CHELSEA: Daily Nanny (B5, G7 & B9 years)

Nanny to 3 children Working for an English / American family with 5 children in Chelsea, Central London. The family have a busy lifestyle living and working in London and travelling internationally in school holidays. The children range from 2-9 years in age and the family have a Labrador. The household can be described as energetic, fun, relaxed and informal.

The Role

Position: Nanny to 3 children aged 5 – 9-years

Term time hours: You will alternate weekly with the other nanny between the working pattern of:

Monday to Friday: 10am – 8pm; or Monday to Friday: 2pm – 8pm

School holiday hours: Monday to Friday: 9am – 8pm Location: Central London

The role of Nanny will be responsible for three of the family’s children; two boys aged 5yrs and 9yrs and one girl aged 7yrs. Working alongside another nanny and the parents, there may be a cross over helping with the younger children; a boy aged 4 and a girl aged 2. There will be a mixture of shared and sole care. Responsibilities include collecting the children from school, supporting with homework, accompanying them to activities and providing a fun, stimulating and nurturing environment for them at home after school and during school holidays. On occasion there may be the requirement to travel overseas with the family. There will also be a second nanny each day for the younger two children (2 and 4) who you will rotate your working pattern with each week.

More about you

We are seeking a dedicated Nanny who is passionate about providing a kind, loving and fun approach to their role, whilst ensuring that the learning is incorporated into the children’s and daily routines. You must be flexible, positive, self-motivated and willing to work as part of a team as well as independently.

Key responsibilities and Primary Deliverables

Activities

• Plan and lead educational activities with the children, researching new activities to carry out as and when appropriate

• Support the children through child led play and oversee their activities at all times

• Support and nurture the children interacting with them at all times

• Read with the children age appropriate literature

• Promote independence in the children and support good manners and behaviours

• Support with homework and ensure school bags are correctly packed each day

• Proactively plan playdates with friends

• Pass on any teacher’s feedback to the parents when collecting the children from school / nursery

Children’s routine

• Support the children’s morning routine, dressing, washing and breakfast, mainly during school holidays, and evening routines

• Ensure bottles and mealtimes are prepared and arrive on time with correct food (These are cooked by a household chef)

• Change nappies throughout the day, for the youngest child and support with potty training

• Tidy away after activities and play areas

• Tidy and fold clothes away

• Attend any other needs of the children

• Support the younger children’s Nanny, as required and be aware of all the children’s needs

Meals

• Sit with the children during mealtimes and role model good behaviour and encourage them to try new foods

• Support with feeding

• Occasionally prepare meals for the children, if needed, and support the Chef, Housekeeper and other Nanny when required to do so

• Follow any direction from the parents on appropriate food for the children

Driving

• Collect children from school and drive to any social events, ensuring safety is a priority at all times

Additional tasks

• Administration relating to the children e.g. booking classes, buying clothes, ordering online

Relevant experience & skills

Education & certifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of the physical, intellectual, emotional and social development of children

• Demonstrated experience within a childcare setting or Nannying role; experience with toddlers

• Strong knowledge of children’s activities and a flare for creativity and fun

• Exceptional communication and organisational skills

• Trustworthy and discreet

• The ability to quickly form close and trusting relationships with the parents and the children

• A kind, cheerful and easy-going personality

• A well-presented and positive role model for children

• Ability to create activities that are fun and

support the children’s development

• Patience, understanding and a sense of humour
