Mother's Day 2018

Mother's Day 2018 Whether you’re working with your household on Mothering Sunday or have been asked to prepare a gift, an activity, or simple cards for Mother’s Day; we’ve compiled a list of five thoughtful ways to help your charges celebrate with their beloved mothers on March 11th.

Things to BUY..

Merci Maman is a highly covetable online boutique, famed for its beautiful, hand engraved jewellery. The Duchess of Cambridge has been spotted wearing their finery in recent years, and you can choose from simple bracelets with birthstone charms to bangles and the now famous ‘Duchess’ necklace. http://www.mercimamanboutique.com/

How about treating her to a slogan sweatshirt from The FMLY Store? Bearing words like ‘MAMA,’ ‘MOTHER,’ ‘WONDER WOMAN’ and ‘LOVE’ in on-trend colourways and super soft fabric, these sweaters are great for wearing to and from the gym or out in the park at weekends. £10 from each sale goes to women’s charities. https://www.thefmlystore.com/

Bloom and Wild are pioneering mail-order florists with two-hour delivery options within London for last-minute bouquets. The company made its name delivering bouquets in flat-pack boxes with printed instructions for arranging - but they now offer a hand-tied service, too. https://www.bloomandwild.com/

Things to MAKE..

If you’re feeling crafty, these silhouette portraits are just divine - and they can be made at home with craft shop canvases, paint, vinyl and a printer. For older charges, we love the idea of stencilling their mothers’ best words of wisdom onto a tea towel to prove that they do listen to mother, after all! Any mother will treasure these snapshots of their children, and creating them by hand only makes them even more special. Things to DO..

Why not book the family in for Afternoon Tea on Mothering Sunday this year? Our favourite has to be the Wedgwood Afternoon Tea at The Langham’s Palm Court. Tea commences with a lemon posset amuse bouche, followed by a selection of teas and speciality sandwiches, scones, and delightful pastries. Tea can easily be upgraded with a glass of Perrier Jouet. Children can order from the Hamleys Afternoon Tea menu, which is colourful and fun – and delivered to the table with a complimentary Hamleys teddy bear to take home. https://thelanghamlondon.skchase.com/afternoontea

Do pop over to our Facebook page and let us know any good ideas you have for helping your charges honour their mothers on Mother’s Day this year. Pinterest is, of course, a hive of inspiration for marking special days with fun crafts, so sign up and get pinning if you’re not already!
