As always, we’ve done a neat little round-up of the best things to do and see in London over the Easter weekend and the school holidays. Have we missed something? Share a link to our Facebook page so your fellow nannies know!
Winnie the Pooh at the V&A
☑ This exhibition is a mini-replica of A.A Milne’s famous Hundred Acre Wood, complete with a real Poohsticks Bridge, Pooh’s house, stories to listen to, a slide and illustrations. Tickets are £8 and booking is recommended. Open until 8 April. If you’re making a big day of it, why not treat them to a picnic-themed Winnie the Pooh afternoon tea at either The Gore Hotel or The Pelham Hotel? Peter Rabbit at Kew
☑ This outdoor event boasts lots of gorgeous, Beatrix Potter themed games and a bunny trail around the gardens. Children can learn about vegetables in grumpy Mr MacGregor’s garden, and find out more about Beatrix Potter’s links to Kew. Entry is included in admission. Runs 30 March-15 Apr. Nature Trails at Hyde Park
☑ Take them to Hyde Park on Tuesday 3rd April for an active day of bird watching, nest finding, and exploring pond life through a microscope. £15-£20, book ahead. 10am-3pm (https://www.royalparks.org.uk/whats-on/upcoming-events/nature-explorers-spring-to-life)
Chocolate Tuesday at Chelsea Physic Garden
☑ After a weekend of choccy-scoffing, 6-11 year olds can learn about the history, geography and science of chocolate through a programme of activities, a garden tour, and even some tasting - if they have room for more! £15, book ahead. 10.30am-3pm (https://www.chelseaphysicgarden.co.uk/Event/chocolate-tuesday-april)
Superheroes at London Zoo
☑ The self-guided Superpowers Trails at London Zoe are all about discovering the super powers of some of its animal-residents. Children all get given a special comic book to take around the trail with them, checking the amazing facts as they go, before ending up at ‘Superpower HQ’ to join in more activities where they can ‘disappear’ like some of the zoo’s camouflaged animals, make sticky spiders’ webs, and float like butterflies.

Rainbows at the Horniman Museum
☑ This interactive exhibition features family-friendly displays, a mood room with sensory lighting and a colour café where visitors can discover why taste buds only react to certain colours. Who knew?! For the Easter holidays there are themed, 45-minute art activities from Tuesday April 3 to Friday April 13 - it’s also free, but book when you arrive. Happy Easter to all our nannies and families!
