ATHENS, GREECE + travel: Experienced Rota Nanny (4 children: 2 - 11.5 years + new baby due) | August start | visa provided | £££££

  •  Experienced Rota Nanny (4 children: 2 - 11.5 years, + new baby due)
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Schedule: 2 weeks on/off, providing 24-hour cover during each rota period (flights to and from the UK for rota cover will be paid for by the family).
  • Salary: Dependent on experience

Essential skills and experience:

  • Previous experience in a rota nanny role and within a fully staffed private household
  • Strong experience caring for multiple children across a wide range of ages
  • A proven ability to plan engaging, age- and stage-appropriate activities that support children's learning and development
  • Excellent organisation skills, including managing children's routines, wardrobes, packing and travel logistics
  • Highly self-motivated with strong personal initiative, able to plan ahead, anticipate what needs doing and manage time effectively without requiring day to day direction
  • A proactive, hands-on approach to problem solving, resolving day to day issues independently and only escalating matters that genuinely require parental input
  • Confident communication and the ability to work collaboratively with parents, another rota nanny and wider household staff
  • A warm, proactive and flexible approach, with sound judgement, common sense and a genuine team-player attitude
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally with the family

A lovely, busy family based in Athens is seeking a professional and experienced, Rota Nanny to care for their five children: G11.5, G10, B6 & G2 years and a baby due in January (maternity nurse will be employed for the baby for 6–12 months).

The family are looking for a nanny who can provide continuity of care in a long-term position. The role will be shared care when the parents are present, and a strong, collaborative working relationship with them is essential, as they are actively involved in their children's lives.

This is a role for someone who takes full ownership of the children's day to day world. The successful candidate will be highly organised, self motivated and able to work independently, using their own initiative to plan ahead, keep on top of routines and manage competing priorities without needing to be told what to do or chased for updates. Strong time management and the confidence to make sound decisions unsupervised are essential.

The ideal candidate will be warm, bubbly, confident and professional, with a proactive approach to supporting a busy family. They should have a team-player mindset, a practical 'muck-in' attitude and strong common sense.

The nanny should have a proven background in supporting children's learning and development through engaging, enjoyable activities that are appropriate for each child's age and stage. They must also be highly organised and confident managing children's routines, packing, wardrobe organisation and travel logistics, planning ahead independently rather than relying on prompts from parents or other staff.

This is a fully staffed household, and the nanny will work opposite another rota nanny. Excellent communication with the parents, the other nanny and wider household staff is essential. Responsibilities will include keeping the children's bedrooms, playrooms, wardrobes and other areas tidy and organised, as well as managing the children's laundry and preparing some meals for them.

  • Accommodation will be provided during working shifts, with a private bedroom and bathroom.
  • International travel is an essential part of the role, as the family regularly travel to the UK, the US and other holiday destinations.
  • The family have one dog in Athens.
  • A confident driver is preferable.
  • All necessary working visas will be organised by the family.
