THE CHILDREN & DAILY ROUTINE The family's eldest daughter is a happy little girl aged one year, with no known allergies or special medical requirements. She is currently enjoying a well-established routine, and the parents are keen to maintain this consistency as she grows and develops. Her present routine includes: - Night-time sleep from approximately 7.00 pm to 7.00 am.
- Two daytime naps, currently around 9.00 am and 1.00 pm, lasting approximately 1.5 hours each.
- Regular outdoor activities, walks, playdates and age-appropriate developmental play.
- A balanced daily programme of stimulating activities, rest and established mealtimes.
- With the arrival of a newborn in early January, the successful nanny must be particularly confident and experienced in caring for both babies and toddlers, understanding the differing needs of two very young children.
- The nanny will need to be comfortable adapting routines as the children develop, balancing the needs of a newborn with those of an increasingly active and curious toddler.
THE ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES This is a hands-on childcare position requiring a nanny who is organised, proactive and confident in taking responsibility for the children's day-to-day care. Responsibilities will include: - Providing attentive, loving and developmentally appropriate care for both children.
- Establishing and maintaining consistent feeding, sleeping and daily routines.
- Supporting all aspects of new-born care, including feeding, settling, sleep patterns and developmental milestones.
- Planning stimulating, educational and creative activities appropriate to each child's age and stage.
- Encouraging physical development, language acquisition, early learning and social interaction.
- Organising outings, walks, playdates and suitable outdoor activities.
- Preparing healthy, nutritious meals and snacks for the children.
- Taking responsibility for the children's clothing, laundry, nursery organisation and general childcare-related duties.
- Maintaining a safe, hygienic and well-organised environment for the children.
- Communicating regularly and openly with the parents regarding the children's progress, routines and development.
- Taking initiative and working independently whilst respecting the parents' preferences and established family routines.
- Accompanying the family on international travel when required.
- The successful candidate should be equally happy engaging in energetic, imaginative play with a toddler as she is confidently caring for and settling a newborn baby.
WORKING ARRANGEMENTS - The position is offered on a five-day working week, with two days off.
- The anticipated working hours are approximately 12 hours per day, although the precise start and finish times will be discussed and agreed with the successful candidate.
- As the family is expecting a new baby, some flexibility will be appreciated whilst the children's routines become established. Occasional evening or weekend flexibility may be required, together with accompanying the family on trips.
- The parents are keen to agree a clear, practical and mutually suitable working schedule, ensuring that expectations are understood from the outset.
ACCOMMODATION Although classified as a live-in position, the accommodation arrangement offers considerably more independence and privacy than a conventional live-in nanny role. The nanny will have her own private, self-contained apartment within the same residential building as the family, provided at the employer's expense. This arrangement allows the nanny to enjoy her own personal space and privacy outside working hours, whilst being conveniently situated close to the family's home. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE Our clients are particularly interested in meeting an experienced, professional British, native English-speaking Nanny who has a strong background in caring for babies and toddlers, ideally including previous experience with two children of similar ages. The ideal candidate will offer: - Substantial professional nanny experience, particularly with newborns, babies and toddlers.
- Excellent knowledge of early childhood development, routines and age-appropriate stimulation.
- Confidence in managing the needs of two young children simultaneously.
- A warm, affectionate, patient and genuinely nurturing personality.
- An energetic, positive and engaging approach to childcare.
- Strong organisational skills, initiative and the ability to anticipate children's needs.
- A calm, practical and adaptable manner.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with professional parents.
- Respect for family privacy, confidentiality and household preferences.
- Previous experience working in international households would be advantageous.
- A willingness to relocate to Istanbul and accompany the family on international travel.
- Current infant and paediatric First Aid/CPR certification.
- Excellent, verifiable professional references and willingness to complete the necessary background checks.
- A genuine interest in securing a stable, long-term position.
- Professional childcare qualifications would be highly regarded, although extensive relevant experience, excellent references and personal suitability will be equally important.
Above all, the family would like to find someone who is naturally warm and engaging with children, capable of providing structure and appropriate boundaries without being overly rigid, and who will bring a happy, reassuring presence to their home. SALARY & BENEFITS - An excellent remuneration package is offered, commensurate with the successful candidate's experience, qualifications and the final working arrangements.
- The package includes:
- Excellent monthly salary, dependent upon experience.
- Five-day working week, with two days off.
- Private, self-contained apartment, provided at the employer's expense.
- Work permit provided by the employer.
- Private health insurance, with details to be agreed.
- Annual leave arrangements to be agreed.
- International travel opportunities with the family.
- The opportunity to establish a rewarding, long-term working relationship with a professional and welcoming household.
START DATE November 2026 is the preferred start date, allowing the incoming nanny time to settle into the household, establish a relationship with the eldest child and become familiar with her routine before the arrival of the new baby in January 2027. A LOVELY LONG-TERM INTERNATIONAL OPPORTUNITY This is a particularly appealing position for an experienced British Nanny who enjoys caring for very young children and would welcome the opportunity to live and work in Istanbul. The parents place considerable importance on finding someone with whom they can build a trusting, positive and lasting relationship. They appreciate the value of professional childcare experience but equally recognise the importance of warmth, good communication, personal compatibility and mutual respect. For the right candidate, this offers an excellent opportunity to become an important and valued part of the children's early years, whilst enjoying independent accommodation and a highly attractive international employment package.
